"Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely
are your branches...."
Hurray, hurrah, tis the season to be jolly, at last!
Peace and goodwill to all men.
December has arrived and as always, I like to give
you the best recommendations for the Season and the
time of year. I could go down the traditional shrub
route for December, praising the qualities of Holly
or Skimmia brimming with berry or waxing lyrical about
the plump, juicy needles of Pines and Spruces. But
I am not going too!
I am going to embrace the contemporary side of myself
and present you with some pure, unadulterated FOLLY!
Topiary is a fantastic means of creating a bold statement
in any garden whether traditional or contemporary.
It can be equally effective displayed individually
as a ball shape within a planter as it does a row of
cones planted alongside a pathway.
These stunning topiary Christmas trees are fantastic.
They are pot grown and have been lovingly tended by
a specialist topiary grower & cultivator before
coming to Dyffryn. They are not only beautiful quality
plants but also ooze fun and folly, which for a lot
of us, is what this Season is all about!
Ligustrum jonandrum is an evergreen privet, producing
small rounded foliage very similar to Buxus (Box).
It is much faster growing and more tolerant of a variety
of conditions, soil types and aspects, both sun and
shade.
The Topiary Christmas trees would look sensational
stood by a front door, draped in twinkling white Christmas
lights, exuding festive fun. They provide a contemporary
twist to a traditional celebration and I think they
are fan - bauble - tastic!
